On March 31th, 2020 Red Hat announced RHEL 7.8 the next regular update to their flag ship operating system. This the successor of RHEL 7.7. With this release in August RHEL 7 transitions to Maintenance Support 2 phase. So from now on only critical security and functional problems will be fixed.
The kernel level for 7.8 is kernel-3.10.0-1127.el7. This release is mainly a bug fix release. It finally completes the integration of all the pervasive encryption features for System Z.
